Visit to Bateman's
In early May members and guests visited the beautiful Jacobean House with its extensive gardens in East Sussex, built in 1634, which was the home of Rudyard Kipling from 1902-1936. The house remains much as he left it, furnished with artefacts and oriental rugs reflecting his strong association with the East.

Visit to Kensal Green Cemetery
On Wednesday 19th October members and guests visited the Cemetery which is one of Britain’s most distinguished public burial grounds dating back to 1833. It contains the graves of over 550 members of the titled nobility and over 700 graves of the great and the good.
The photograph shows our group, led by Melvyn Scase, on the Portico of the Anglican Chapel after the introduction and the visit to the catacombs. We were accompanied on the tour by two guides provided by the Friends of Kensal Green Cemetery.
The tour was preceded by an excellent lunch at the Mason’s Arms which has been restored to its original Victorian splendour.
